Appliance electricity cost calculator
Find out how much it costs to run an appliance. Pick a typical one or enter the wattage from its label.
How it is calculated
kWh = watts × hours / 1000
cost = kWh × price per kWh
The wattage is printed on the appliance label. Appliances with thermostats (fridges, ovens, air conditioners, water heaters) do not run at full power all the time, so their real consumption is lower than the rating.
Use the energy rate from your bill. Your total bill also includes fixed or demand charges and taxes.
